About

MusicGeek.org is a website focused on independent music of all sorts. There is a bit of a slant toward music often described as ‘indie;’ in fact, we use the term with almost reckless abandon. If we find something interesting, though, we’ll do our best to let you know.

MusicGeek.org, based in southern Utah, has been providing varied music coverage since its launch in April 2005, including the sponsoring of several small local concerts.

Founded by me, Matthew Montgomery, a student at Southern Utah University, MusicGeek.org has undergone several iterations, each of them more successful than the last, it is hoped. Matt is assisted in the regular maintenance of MusicGeek.org by Scott Mathews; he is also assisted in the providing of content by Scott, Paige Watters, and his brother, Jared Montgomery.

To submit press releases,  media for review, or to request more information, contact Matthew Montgomery at matt@musicgeek.org.

In a band or providing promo coverage? Here are our requirements for consideration on MusicGeek.org:

-A digital sample of your music. We can play most codecs, but MP3 is usually a safe bet. We like to post samples for our visitors, so appropriate clearance is appreciated.
-A short bio. You can provide a longer one if you want, to. Please include the area you’re from and any discography information you can provide. Also, additional links are always helpful.
-A couple photos we can use on the site, as well as accompanying information, particularly photographer, if available.
-A certain undeniable passion for music.
